LOWBALL BALTIMORE SHOOT: PRINCIPAL CAST
JOSH: (early to mid-20’s) Caucasian male. Handsome – Adonis-like – Honest. A classically trained actor who has just been fired from what he fears was the only significant break he will ever get. Broke and desperate, he discovers that his hometown film director, Tom Walters, is making an upcoming film with Hollywood backing this time. Josh is willing to do almost anything to get cast in what will be one of the most iconic films of the decade, but the competition is deadly.
DETECTIVE GARRETT: (40’s-50’s) – male - all races considered. Wise – Seasoned – Methodical – Logical. A detail-oriented veteran BPD homicide detective. Joanne's murder is the case that bothers him the most, for never being able to solve it. Four years later, new evidence makes him realize it is a race against time to stop a serial killer from brutally killing another African American coed before she becomes another forgotten cold case, never to be solved.
TOM WALTERS: (30’s-40’s) Caucasian male. Baltimore's independent film king is on the verge of worldwide fame, about to make the hugely successful film that will soon make him a household name. His well-liked filmmaker persona is carefully constructed and performed almost like a character in one of his films. His comedic rants reinforce his calculated portrayal of Baltimore's most infamous filmmaker filth-master and successfully hide his precious vulnerability, which very few see and is heavily guarded by his staff. His newly found fame is nearly eclipsed by the methodical actions of a horrifying serial killer, lurking unnoticed in the shadows of his inner circle.
WILL: (early to mid-20’s) male. All races considered. Cute – Friendly – Open - Likable. A closeted homosexual, secretly in love with Josh, desperately wanting to open up to Josh, but knows he must be delicate about it because Josh is presumably straight. Will knows love has no boundaries and believes any kind of love is amazing - Lifelong friends - The two of them have always been soulmates – Will knows the only chance they have to be happy is if he can finally build up the courage to tell Josh how he feels. Still, he can never seem to find the nerve.
IDA: (60’s-70’s) Caucasian female. Self-made - Unfiltered - Owner of Baltimore's most popular dive bar, she is highly liked and respected. Nothing in this town surprises her. She's seen it all and knows just about everyone in this city. She is utterly fearless in her golden years. She treats her staff like family, is deeply caring, and is often hard-nosed.
ELIJAH: (40’s-50’s) African American male. Joanne's father. Jamaican decent – Thin - Conservatively dressed - Working class, Intelligent, Carefully guarded regarding his trust of police officers - Concerned regarding the investigation of his daughter's murder. He is not overly optimistic that they will finally do any real investigative work on the case. He fully expects them to do nothing.
SARAH (40’s-50’s) African American female. Joanne's mother – Jamaican decent - Robust - Full Figure - Working class - Kind, expressive face - Quick to become emotional - Deeply troubled about the lack of effort the police have put into solving her daughter's murder over the past four years. Skeptical that nothing will ever be done, he is determined to pressure the detective, so he finally does something.
ALICIA: (early to mid-20’s) African American female. Smart - Beautiful - Doesn't realize her value or importance in life. Naïve - Bookworm - Her insecurity leads to poor choices in men who are routinely liars, cheaters, and players - She has devoted friends who try to make her realize her self-worth but are too insecure to believe them. She fights hard to get good grades and succeed. Unaware that soon she will be in the fight of her life to survive the brutal assault of a serial killer.
LEX: (20’s-early 30’s) Caucasian male. Handsome - Jock type - Comes from money - Super popular - Deludes himself into thinking he is a gifted visual artist. – An alpha male player who appears to care. His protective overreach becomes psychologically abusive – He has jealous insecurities regarding his inflated opinion of himself – He is vindictive, egotistical, and womanizing, but still manages to convince many vulnerable ladies that they would be lost without him.
PATRICK: (20’s -40’s) Caucasian male. Handsome – Twisted - Dirty player – A hopeful actor who is part of Walters' "In Crowd." He seems like he's always on your side, seemingly sincere, and you never have a clue he's talking smack behind your back until it's too late. He will do whatever's necessary to eliminate his competition and ruin anyone. Even if he likes you, he will not hesitate to poison the waters to get you out of the way.
ANN: (20’s -30’s) female, all races considered - A buxom bombshell bartender - Quick with a joke or kind word when you feel doomed - Honest to a fault - Deeply devoted to helping her friends even more than herself at times.- A truthful, caring friend when you need one the most - Always has your back no matter what. - Ann will lie for you if it helps, but one thing she would never do is lie to you.
STORM: (30’s - 40’s) African American transgender female - Brashly honest - Quick-witted - Hugely famous without having to prove it on the silver screen. - Usually the main instigator of all the trouble Walters often finds himself in - If Storm doesn't like you, you are immediately out of the club – His/her wit is usually based on honest observation - Even the victims of his/her devilish wit realize he/she either pegs them for exactly who they are or who they are pretending to be, most end up laughing with him/her.
TEX: (20’s-30’s) Male Caucasian. Handsome – Rugged - A hick truck driver who appears to be dumb as mud, but he's just playing dumb to give Walters what he needs to see – Like many, he wants to be an actor in Walters' new movie. Tex is a very dirty boy and enjoys telling Walters his filthiest X-rated secrets.
BEN: (30’s - 40’s) Transgender female - all races considered. A Drag queen with no clue he/she is about to become a cult film superstar – Ben attends Walter's film premiere incognito, unrecognized by the press and fans, feels ignored and unimportant at the premiere, and heads home early. Ben is rescued by the cab driver taking him/her home, who makes Ben realize how many regular guys like him are influenced by Ben's larger-than-life character – Ben finally accepts his/her fate and transitions into the fabulous iconic character that everyone adores, just in time to turn a humdrum get together into the decade's most notorious cast party ever.
